Curriculum & Program Design

Teaching sits at the heart of my work. For years, I’ve been designing and delivering food education across classrooms, community spaces, kitchens, and farms. I’ve also worked with learners of all ages and organizations of all kinds.

I care deeply about how people learn, what they leave with, and whether the work actually creates lasting change. Food is one of the most powerful teaching tools we have. It connects health, culture, land, labour, policy, and community. And when approached thoughtfully, it opens the door to conversations and skills that ripple far beyond the kitchen. I work with schools, non-profit organizations, companies, and local governments to design food-based education that is practical, accessible, and grounded in real-world experience.

What This Work Can Look Like

Curriculum and program design projects are shaped around your goals, audience, and context. Together, we can build programming that fits within existing structures or creates something entirely new: whether it’s designed for your team to deliver, supported through training, or delivered directly by me.

Projects may include:

  • One-off workshops or multi-session learning series

  • Curriculum embedded within school programs or community initiatives

  • Food literacy, sustainability, and food systems education

  • Blended learning that combines hands-on cooking, farm visits, and classroom-based learning

  • Programs that explore local food systems, access, and policy alongside practical skills

Delivery formats are flexible and can be mixed as needed:

  • In-person sessions (hands-on, demo-based, or discussion-focused)

  • Live virtual sessions

  • Pre-recorded modules

  • Workbooks, lesson plans, and facilitator guides

  • Hybrid models that combine online and in-person learning

Depending on the project, I can design the curriculum, train facilitators, co-deliver sessions, or support delivery directly.

Pricing & Process

Curriculum and program design work is billed hourly, since projects can vary widely depending on subject matter, audience, and how the material will be used.

Rate: $95/hour

How it works

  1. You share a bit about what you’re hoping to build — your goals, audience, and timeline

  2. I review the request and send a clear quote with an estimated range of hours

  3. If you’d like to move forward, a 50% deposit confirms the project and allows work to begin

The remaining balance is billed based on the agreed scope or milestones. If the scope needs to shift, we’ll always talk it through first.
