Non-Profit & School Food Education

A young man with a beard wearing a straw hat and denim shirt, holding a small mushroom in his hand, inside a room decorated with a colorful tapestry and blue furniture.

I’ve spent years teaching cooking and food education in community settings, working with nonprofits, schools, and grassroots organizations to make food feel accessible, practical, and empowering. My background spans hands-on cooking instruction, food literacy, and sustainability education.

Programs can be delivered as hands-on cooking classes or as demo-based workshops, depending on your space, audience, and goals. I’m happy to help you choose the format that fits best.

Demo-Based Workshops

Demo-based sessions are flexible and work well in classrooms, community spaces, libraries, and event settings. I bring portable cooking equipment (burners, tools, ingredients) and lead a live cooking demonstration paired with conversation, questions, and shared learning.

Participants can sample what’s prepared, and the focus is on skills, ideas, and confidence rather than everyone cooking at once.

Hands-On Cooking Classes

Hands-on classes invite participants into the cooking process directly. These sessions require more coordination (including kitchen access, equipment, and supervision) but they offer a deeper, tactile learning experience.

These classes are best suited for smaller groups where everyone can safely and comfortably participate.

Pricing

  • $340 for groups up to 8 participants

  • +$15 per additional participant

  • For groups larger than 12 when working with children or youth, additional support is required to ensure safety and a positive learning environment. Any extra staffing needs are discussed in advance.
